The Vincenzo Pansadoro Foundation was founded in 1987 in honor of Professor Vincenzo Pansadoro, one of the most prominent urologists in Italy. The Foundation has been dedicated to clinical research in the field of Uro-Oncology. The Foundation is internationally known for its avant-garde research and for its role in the education and formation of young urologists, through the organization of International courses and congresses (approximately 25 thus far), and its numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. The video library of the Foundation contains numerous surgical videos of procedures performed both in Rome and in international centers by expert surgeons. Some of these films have been requested for the permanent collection of International video libraries in prestigious societies such as the American Urologic Association. The daily work of the Foundation is performed at the Urologic Laparoscopy Center and the Medical Oncology Department located in the Clinic PIO XI in Rome. The majority of the work is oriented towards innovative surgery in the field of Uro-Oncology. A staff of Urologists and Medical Oncologists, together with a series of expert radiologists, pathologists, internal medicine specialists, cardiologists, and psychologists collaborate in the Urologic Laparoscopy Center.  Collaboration between the Foundation and the Urologic Laparoscopy Center has led in the last 20 years to international recognition and high quality scientific publications in prestigious peer-reviewed journals.
