Sacral Colpopexy After pregnancy and the trauma of delivery, genital prolapse can occur over time and is often associated with urinary incontinence.
In the past, resolution of this problem by surgery was
complicated and long term results were usually not
completely gratifying.
Today, with the advent of laparoscopic techniques vaginal prolapse can be resolved by applying a polyester mesh net which fixes the vaginal wall to the sacrum. Excellent results and definitive cure can be obtained in patients with cystocele, rectocele, and vaginal vault prolapse.
For patients with urinary incontinence, a transvaginal tension free vaginal tape can be utilized.
Average surgical time 120’.
